Discover the Power of Change

Clinical Hypnotherapy

A Calm, Personal Approach To Therapy

Hypnotherapy in Surrey

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a gentle, guided process that helps you enter a focused and deeply relaxed state similar to being absorbed in a book or lost in thought. You remain fully in control throughout, aware of what’s happening and able to return to your normal state whenever you choose.

In this relaxed state, your mind becomes more receptive to helpful suggestions, insights, and new perspectives. This can make it easier to let go of unhelpful habits, manage anxiety, or shift emotional responses that may have felt stuck for a long time.

Modern clinical hypnotherapy is not about mind control or tricks — it’s a collaborative, safe, and natural way of working with the deeper levels of your mind to support positive change.

How Hypnotherapy Works

Each session is adapted to your needs, whether you’re working with habits, anxiety, confidence, or emotional blocks. Here’s what to expect:

1

A Calm, Safe Environment

We start by exploring what’s bringing you to therapy and what you’d like to change.

2

Guided Relaxation

You’ll be gently guided into a state of focused calm using breathing, imagery, and suggestions that feel similar to daydreaming.

3

Therapeutic Suggestions

In this state, the mind is more open to new ideas. We’ll work with suggestions and imagery that support your goals and values.

4

Integration and Reflection

After the session, we’ll review the experience and talk through any thoughts or feelings that emerged. You may be given tools to practise between sessions.

Hypnotherapy can be used on its own or integrated into other therapy approaches, especially where anxiety, confidence or phobias are a central focus.

Is Hypnotherapy Right for You?

Hypnotherapy can be especially helpful if you:

  • Feel stuck with habits or patterns that don’t respond to willpower alone
  • Want support with anxiety, confidence, or emotional overwhelm
  • Are looking for a focused, calming approach that doesn’t require overthinking or reliving the past
  • Struggle with performance anxiety, phobias or sleep issues
  • Prefer a practical, goal-focused therapy with gentle structure

It can also work well with other therapies like CBT or EMDR for issues such as trauma or fear-based responses.

What to Expect in a Session

Sessions last up to 75 minutes and always begin with a conversation to clarify your goals. You’ll never be rushed, pressured, or asked to do anything you’re uncomfortable with.

Most people describe the process as relaxing and enjoyable. Many leave feeling clearer, lighter, or simply more calm and focused.

Hypnotherapy FAQ

Will I lose control during hypnosis?

No. You stay in control the whole time. You can speak, open your eyes or stop the process at any point.

What does hypnosis feel like?

It’s a bit like a daydream or that moment before sleep — calm, quiet, and focused. Everyone experiences it slightly differently.

Can you make me do something I don’t want to do?

Absolutely not. Hypnotherapy is collaborative. You won’t accept any suggestions that don’t fit your values or goals.

Does it work in one session?

It depends. Some people notice a shift after one session, while others benefit from several to work through an issue more deeply.
