Kevin Rymill
I have worked in mental health since 1988, within the public sector of Social Services and the NHS. Over time, I developed a keen interest n how people overcome challenges and how psychotherapy helps them to recover. I later began my core training in psychotherapy and counselling at Regent’s College.
I continued my training as a psychodynamic counsellor at King’s College,working at Guy’s Hospital with people with a life-changing health condition. I hold qualifications in Hypnotherapy at advanced practitioner-level gained from The London College of Clinical Hypnotherapy, the only college in the country which teaches a medical diploma at practitioner level. I also have a Master of Science degree in the treatment and diagnosis of mental health issues, awarded by Kings College in conjunction with Guys Hospital London. Since then, I’ve trained in a wide range of therapeutic models, and now I work as an experienced Integrative Psychotherapist and Hypnotherapist.
Areas of Expertise
I’m especially interested in how our minds can influence physical wellbeing and overall health. I’ve spent many years working with people who’ve experienced severe trauma in their lives. With the right approach and understanding, I believe it’s possible to overcome even the most difficult of experiences. I’m drawn to the ways cultural background and upbringing shape how we experience and express distress. I work with each person to discover what genuinely helps them to feel better.
Integrative Psychotherapy
As an integrative therapist, I treat each person as a unique individual. Rather than using only one style of therapy, I draw on a wide range of approaches to find what works for you.
I pay exceptionally close attention to understanding you and your view of the world. I bring empathy, kindness, wisdom, humility, humour when appropriate and many years of measured experience to your sessions.
My work is client – focused and often life changing.
Credentials and Affiliations
I am a senior accredited member of the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists and registered with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. I’m also a member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis, which is accredited by the Complementary and National Healthcare Council CNHC. The CNHC is overseen by the Professional Standards Authority for health and social care.
These affiliations mean that I follow clear ethical guidelines, including confidentiality and profesional conduct – all of which can be viewed online. I also hold full public indemnity insurance for your peace of mind.
